Nepal Striving to Saves Lives from COVID-19, PM Oli

Addressing the lawmakers in the Federal Parliament today, PM KP Oli expressed that the Nepali Government is striving to save people from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The lawmakers have questioned the government’s initiatives and policies to control and prevent coronavirus in the country.

Answering their questions, he said that there might be other reasons for the death of two people in the country.

“We have to accept coronavirus as the cause behind their death even though the real cause might be something else as per the provision of the World Health Organization (WHO),” said PM Oli.

He also assured that the Nepali Government would improve quarantine camps and provide proper treatment for those in quarantine.

So far, the government has kept around 22,076 people in quarantine and 512 in isolation wards.

PM Oli further expressed that the coronavirus in infected Nepalis with travel history to India is more acute than those who arrived from Italy and China.

Lawmakers have also raised questions on the governmental policies and programs for FY 2020/21 proposed by President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

Meanwhile, the main opposition Nepali Congress has insisted on 7 amendments to the proposed policies and programs.

Likewise, Law Minister Shiva Maya Tumbahamphe proposed revival of some legal provisions and scrapping of some ordinances.

So far, Nepal has reported 375 COVID-19 positive cases and two death cases.
