The Tribhuvan University (TU) has announced its decision to conduct semester and annual examinations after the Dashain festival.
According to Controller of Examinations, Pushparaj Joshi, the university has completed all the preparations to conduct the postponed examinations after Dashain.
Though the university had earlier prepared to conduct the exams before the Dashain festival, the growing threat of the coronavirus pandemic in the country has persuaded the authorities to withdraw their decision.
According to Joshi, the Examination Controller’s Office will conduct annual exams while concerned faculties will conduct semester-based exams.
The TU is striving to complete the annual examinations before mid-April next year to be within the threshold period of 48 months to complete a four-year degree program.
If the exams were completed by the upcoming April, it would be within 45 months, and so no academic sessions would be affected.
The annual examinations will likely begin by the end of November 2020.
However, the decision on semester-based exams would be taken based on the number of students and reports of the respective dean office.
