Live News! Grade 12 exams to be now conducted online for 40 marks out of 100

The grade 12 exam, which was scheduled for April 20, was postponed because of the lockdown imposed from March 24.

In the latest announcement, Grade 12 exam will be conducted online but only for 40 marks out of 100.

The National Examination Board (NEB) has directed the government to conduct online examinations for 40 marks and practical exams for 20 marks.

NEB has taken this decision in the light of increasing coronavirus infection and would be soon implemented after the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology will present a proposal on this mixed exam system after approval from Council of Ministers.

The government also has extended support for those who do not have internet access through the Student Learning Facilitation Guidelines – 2077.

The Examination Controller of the Board, Krishna Prasad Sharma, mentioned that the 40 marks online exam schedule would be made public after setting up the work procedure and question paper and if no other alternatives can be arranged.

It would be an open exam mode where students can use books and other material to refer but have to finish the exam within the stipulated time period. 4,32,000 students have filled up the form for the exam.

The board has issued a notice on September 11 by asking the students to offer details of migration within seven days if they have traveled to other districts from the place they were studying due to the coronavirus pandemic.
