So far, the Nepali Government has reported 73,394 COVID-19 infection cases and 477 death cases in the country.
Currently, there are 19,019 active cases and 53,898 recovery cases.
Meanwhile, the global coronavirus caseload has reached 33,307,282, with 251,915 new cases in the last 24 hours. With new hotspots constantly emerging globally, the death toll has crossed 1 million mark on Sunday.
Currently, there are 7,666,538 active cases and 24,638,344 recovery cases.
COVID-19 in Nepal:
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), a total of 1,573 new positive cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the nation’s caseload to 73,394.
The new cases were reported after a total of 10,123 persons underwent PCR tests across the country.
Meanwhile, 885 patients have recovered successfully on Sunday, pushing the total recoveries to 53,898. Currently, the recovery rate stands at 73.4%.
Unfortunately, ten patients have lost their lives in the last 24 hours while undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the country. The nation’s death toll stands at 477.
Kathmandu Valley Accounts Over 51% of Total Cases
The Kathmandu Valley, on Sunday, reported 809 new coronavirus cases and five deaths. The Valley accounts for 51.4% of the total cases in the country.
Among the new cases, Kathmandu alone reported 633 cases, while Bhaktapur and Lalitpur registered 72 and 104 cases, respectively.
Kathmandu leads as a district with the highest number of active cases with over 7,500 cases. Meanwhile, Bhaktapur has over 800 active infections, while Lalitpur has over 900.
Over 80,000 Nepalis Return Home from Abroad
According to the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC), a total of 80,016 Nepalis have returned home from various foreign countries via air amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Nepalis retuned from 32 different countries, with the highest from the United Arab Emirates and the lowest from Sri Lanka.
