Nepali Fashion Designer Sanyukta Shrestha Wins ‘Editor’s Choice Award 2020’

London-based Nepali fashion designer Sanyukta Shrestha has added another feather in her cap for her successful journey as the most celebrated designer for bridal attires and sustainable fashion.

The ‘Bridal Buyer Award,’ the Oscars of the Bridal Industry in the UK, has bestowed Sanyukta Shrestha with the ‘Editor’s Choice Award 2020’.

Sanyukta has received the globally recognized award for her outstanding commitment and contribution to combating the coronavirus crisis. She has been supporting frontline health professionals using her professional fashion designing skills since the outbreak of pandemic.

The bridal designer Sanyukta, with her team, made PPE face shields for frontline healthcare workers of the National Health Service (NHS) and face masks for care workers in England.

The London-based designer has also provided relief to the vulnerable groups in Nepal. Sanyukta and her team made special masks for Aama & all the residents of ‘Aamako Ghar’ in Kathmandu. Aamako Ghar has been sheltering 86 homeless, older women, and orphans since 1999.

This is the second award received by Shrestha in the year 2020. Earlier, she has won the title of ‘Wedding Boutique of The Year London’ for her eco-friendly bridal outlet, Behuli Boutique. It was the only eco-friendly boutique among the 29 shortlisted nominees.

The boutique was declared as the title holder in Britain’s Asian Wedding Awards ceremony organized by Oceanic Consulting on February 11, 2020, at the Sheraton Grande Park Lane Hotel.

Moreover, Sanyukta was also the nominee for the ‘The Best Innovation Award’ in the UK Wedding Awards 2020. She was the first and only bridal designer among the eight nominees shortlisted for the category. ⁠
