After 8 Months of Hiatus, Nepali Cricket Team to Resume Training!!

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is all set to resume the national cricket team’s training sessions that have been canceled for the last eight months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The training sessions are expected to start from the third week of November. However, the National Sports Council is yet to grant permission to the CAN in this matter.

“CAN was at work to resume the training sessions right after the Chhath festival,” said CAN President Chatur Bahadur Chand.

In line with this, the CAN has directed around 24 players, currently staying in and around the Kathmandu Valley, to get ready for the training.

“The technical committee will decide the participation of players in the sessions. All the players will be tested for COVID-19 infection before the training,” said Chand.

He further informed that, during the training sessions, players and coaches would stay at hotels or guest houses if needed.

Earlier, the CAN has planned to resume training sessions from August 17, but the plans were later dropped due to the rise in infection cases.
