Agni Prasad Sapkota, the speaker of the dissolved House of Representatives, held an all-party meeting. The move comes after the dissolution of HoR has displeased various national political leaders.
The political parties’ leaders, which constitute the federal parliament, and former Prime Ministers were invited to attend this meeting in New Baneshwar, Kathmandu.
Incumbent PM Oli, chairman of the ruling CPN-UML, skipped the meeting while former PM Jhala Khanal joined the meeting virtually.
The meeting was called for after political parties have approached the Supreme Court challenging the dissolution of HoR.
On May 22, President Bidya Bhandari dissolved the parliament’s lower house on the recommendation of the Oli-led cabinet
