After a drastic fall in coronavirus infection cases to as low as 1,400 in the last 15 days, Nepal has seen a slight increase in cases as 4,522 new cases in the last 24 hours.
Among the new cases, 3,703 persons have tested positive through the RT-PCR method, while 819 have tested positive through the Antigen method, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP). A total of 12,204 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley reported the highest 476 new cases, including 310 cases in Kathmandu district, 99 in Lalitpur, and 67 in Bhaktapur.
In the last 24 hours, 369 new cases were reported in Province 1, 51 in Province 2, 882 in Bagmati Province, 486 in Gandaki Province, 189 in Lumbini Province, 40 in Karnali Province, and 42 in Sudurpaschim.
Meanwhile, 41 people have succumbed to the COVID-19, taking the nation’s coronavirus death toll to 8,813.
Fortunately, a total of 4,954 patients have recovered successfully from the virus, taking the total recovery cases to 564,882. Currently, there are 52,648 active cases in the country.
Thirty-five districts have more than 500 active cases each, and 19 districts have over 200 active cases each.
