Now you can transfer money instantly with the newly launched payments service “Namaste Pay”.
Rastriya Banijya Bank (RBB) and Nepal Telecom (NT) have jointly launched the Nepal Payments Company Limited (also known as Namaste Pay) today.
The company has formally launched the mobile money service today after a trial among the officials of NT and RBB. However, the service is only available for Android users, as of now.
The mobile money service can be activated by dialing *500# in the Nepal Telecom network.
After opening the account in Namaste Pay, users can make instant transactions of up to NPR 5,000, according to the company.
Users can also recharge their mobile top-up of Nepal Telecom and pay electricity and drinking water bills, in the first phase of the service. The services would be diversified gradually, said the company.
However, the mobile wallet service can be used for electronic payments only after loading cash through a bank or agent network.

Users can load money linking their account of nine banks including Nepal Bank Limited and Rastriya Banijya Bank. The company would expand the service to remaining banks soon.
Namaste pay is the first of its kind service to be operated by the Nepali Government gateway of the service has a total paid-up capital of NPR 400 million.
