Nepali cricket team made a confident start in the tri-nation series in Oman as part of the ICC World Cup League 2 Qualifiers.
In the first ODI match played against Papua New Guinea, the Himalayan team bestowed a humiliating defeat on PNG by knocking out the team for 134 runs in 33 overs.
Now, the Nepali team is looking strong to take a 2-0 lead on PNG in the upcoming match on September 10, 2021.
The match at Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman will commence at 4:15 PM today.
In the four matches played so far in the League 2 Qualifiers, Nepal won 2 matches and lost 2. With a total of 4 points, the Himalayan nation stands at 6th spot.
Trailing Nepal is PNG with zero points. PNG has lost all the 8 matches it played so far in the League.
After today’s match against PNG, Nepal will have to compete with the strong contenders in the League 2 tournament, the USA and Oman.
As the winning chances are very low against the USA and Oman, Nepal must win the match today.
