Nepali Prime Minister Sher Deuba has ordered the vaccination administration officials to complete vaccinations for all Nepalis by mid-April 2022. This is to protect the Himalayan nation against the COVID-19 virus.
Deuba stated that the government had already decided on vaccinating all by that timeline. He further added that Nepal wouldn’t face any vaccines shortage when they are about to achieve this target.
On Thursday, the prime minister held a meeting regarding the COVID-19 crisis management at his residence in Baluwatar, Kathmandu. Deuba stated that vaccines would be provided for free to all Nepalis.
PMO Secretary Maheshwar Neupane said Deuba also asked the concerned officials to make the COVID-19 vaccination program effective.
At this same meeting, the health ministry also submitted a report about Nepal’s vaccination status. The report summed up that 34 percent of Nepalis are partially vaccinated, and 22 percent are fully vaccinated.
