Chief Justice of Nepal, SJB Rana, has extended the olive branch by asking the agitating lawyers to come forth for a dialogue aimed at ending the agitation.
The lawyers are demanding the Chief Justice resign. Their primary motivation for the resignation askance is that the incumbent Chief Justice is responsible for all the existing anomalies in the supreme court.
The Chief Justice issued a statement that all displeased lawyers stop their protests and convene with him to resolve the differences.
Rana affirmed that he would act on the suggestions tendered by Justice Hari Krishna Karki. The suggestions were aimed at bettering the judiciary’s functioning. Rana also said that it was everyone’s responsibility’s to resolve judiciary issues.
“The general public has started asking questions because of the allegations raised in the credibility of the judiciary. It is everyone’s duty to maintain the dignity and honor of the institution,” the Chief Justice said.
