As part of the FY 2020/21 Budget plans that included a program to build at least one hospital in every local unit across the country, the Nepali Finance Ministry has started the process to build 396 primary hospitals.
Issuing a statement, the Finance Ministry has informed that it has provided a ‘resource guarantee’ worth NPR 57.97 billion to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) to construct the hospitals.
It has given consent to the MoHP to initiate the multi-year contract to construct the hospitals with 5, 10, and 15-bed capacities.
Now, the MoHP can initiate the process of construction of hospitals without any concern about the budget shortfall.
The two ministries are set to lay the foundation of those hospitals on November 30, 2020.
