Nepal was visited by 6,000 tourists in August alone. The inflow was double of July’s visitors to the Himalayan nation.
As per the immigration department, 1,985 Indians touristed Nepal last month while 2,192 SAARC tourists landed in Nepal.
Additionally, 1,244 US travelers, 416 tourists from England, and 253 Chinese travelers visited Nepal during August.
Nepal’s tourism sector, which is one of the most significant sectors in the country, was impacted adversely by COVID-19.
After the first wave ended, the hospitality sector was gathering steam. However, the country’s second wave emergence dashed the hopes of the sector.
