The health ministry of Nepal has confirmed that 2,004 infections were detected in Nepal in the past 24 hours. The COVID-19 tally of Nepal has touched 850,208 with the detection of new cases.
10,658 people submitted their swab samples and had them tested with the RT-PCR method. 1,619 of those samples tested positive for coronavirus. PCR testing has a positivity rate of 15.19 percent.
Additionally, 3,992 people were tested using the antigen method. 385 people were found to be infected in these tests. Antigen bagged an unwanted 9.64 positivity rate. Overall, the per-day positivity rate is at 13.67 percent.
As of today, Nepal has 33,946 active coronavirus infections, and 2,327 have been hospitalized. 544 are being treated in ICU, and 166 are on ventilators. While 16 people have lost their lives to the infection, 1,846 infected have scored a complete recovery over the virus.
Overall, 10,786 have died due to COVID-19, while 721,182 people could recover from the viral infection. The recovery rate of Nepal stands at 94.2 percent, while COVID-19 induced mortality rate is at 1.5 percent.
